An amazing man has left the planet. If you knew him, you know.
Born in Comox in 1960, he departed peacefully from the Saanich Peninsula Hospital in 2026 after a short battle with dementia, with a lot of living in between. He was predeceased by his mother, father and sister.
Lawren was a passionate man, devoted to Sheila, his wife of 24 years whom he met during a high school band trip to Alberta in 1974 (always said it took more than 20 years to get married because Sheila was a slow learner). Although he claimed to be a dog person, he loved our cat Solo, and was heartbroken when we had to send Solo over the rainbow bridge in 2021.
His career included working in the Parts Department at BMW Richmond for many years and as a Parts Specialist for Nicholson Manufacturing for more than a decade, dealing with people around the world. He was dedicated to each of those roles, expecting the best from himself and his coworkers and making lifelong friends along the way.
Mr. Brown was an avid supporter of the Canucks and Lions and enjoyed travel with Sheila. He was also a diehard Van Halen fanatic. He enjoyed playing hockey and golf; although not always happy with the results, he enjoyed the post-game beer with his friends.
No service will be held at the request of the family. If you wish to honor memory, have a beer with friends and share your Lawren Brown stories.
Lawren is fondly remembered as part of our extended family. We met him and instantly knew he was a “guys” guy that enjoyed talking hockey and everything cars. He was there when we married and he played bartender for our backyard celebration bringing laughter only he could bring. We connected through family celebrations with his dad and wife Sandy and I remember fondly a lovely dinner party he and his wife hosted in N. Delta. He was so happy to show off his media room and set me down for some pretty awesome tunes! It was nice to see him a few years ago at his dad’s celebration of life event and knew “Island Life” suited the younger Browns well.

I met Lawren 41 years ago when I married his Dad, Larry Brown.
It was the beginning of alot of happy times with a young man who loved camping and fishing. He had many friends to party with and was always borrowing his Dad’s Volvo on weekends. He loved that old car.
When he brought Sheila and her beautiful twins to B.C., we were so happy that he had finally found his forever love and family.
Lawren was an amazing, loving son. He and Larry were never happier than when they had a “project” that always involved tools and a celebratory beer or two on completion.
They were best buddies to the very end.
Lawren will be missed and forever remembered by us, who loved him.
