William Glyn Stephens

William Glyn Stephens

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of William Glyn Stephens on February 18, 2026, at the age of 96.

From England, immigrating to Canada, making a home in Georgetown & Limehouse, Ontario and retiring in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Glyn lived a full, busy life with family and friends, work and travel. In retirement he even visited Australia & Russia, two of his bucket list places.

Glyn will be missed dearly by his family: wife, Christine, Chris to family & friends; children, Peter, Jacquie and Wendy & her husband Craig; and his lovely grand-daughters Lauren (Jacob) and Olivia. We are grateful for the many years we shared with him and will cherish his memory always.

Our thanks to BC Ambulance Services paramedics and BC Firefighters first responders.

At the request of the deceased there will be no service however we would like to share a poem very much liked by Glyn.

Jerusalem [“And did those feet in ancient time”] by William Blake

And did those feet in ancient time,
Walk upon England’s mountains green,
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On England’s pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold,
Bring me my arrows of desire,
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In England’s green & pleasant Land.
