Muriel Lilian Hunt

Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Muriel Lilian Hunt, died peacefully on Saturday, January 3rd, 2026.

Muriel was born on July 4th, 1931 in Areley Kings, Worcestershire, England to Lenora Lilian Bibb (nee New) and Harold Bibb. She was predeceased by her husband Roy Hunt, youngest son Paul Hunt and younger sister “Ray” Evers.

Muriel is survived by her daughter Linda Hunt, son Philip Hunt, granddaughter Jennifer Hunt, grandson Clayton Hunt (Nicole Barker), great grandson Dakota and great granddaughter Scottie. She is also survived by her brother in law Philip Evers of England and sister in law Janet Drew (Maurice) of Duncan, as well as nieces and nephews.

Muriel was: caring, kind, thoughtful, loving, welcoming, with an ability to make people feel comfortable. Muriel also had a great sense of humour, often with a twinkle in her eye.

Community service was very important to Muriel and her husband Roy. Roy was a founding member of the Lions Food Bank and Muriel volunteered there for over 25 years, as well as with the Health Units’ Better Babies Programme for many years.
