Sue Melanson November 12, 1954-July 3, 2025. Pre-deceased by her father Albert Barr (2008) and sister Corrine (1953). Sue leaves behind to celebrate her a full and loving family.
Born in London, Ontario, Sue has two brothers Allen (Colleen) and John (Sheri) Barr. She married Gary Melanson in 1973 in London Ontario, they have three children, Rachel (Mike), Douglas (Angie), Kyle (Kaitlyn) and 5 grandchildren, Katelin (Tony), Megan, Daniel, Maris and Murphy.
Sue worked in healthcare, throughout her life. Graduating high school at only 16 yrs old she finished college becoming a medical secretary. Places she called home in her life include, London, Sarnia, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Calgary and Victoria. Much of her professional work was in mental health and patient advocacy for Alberta Health. She finished her master’s degree in social work and continued to help people both professionally and personally. After retiring Sue continued to use her training creating Grief Support Groups through her church.
Sue’s strong faith in Jesus Christ was the solid foundation she and Gary lived their life on, and we are grateful to know that, as followers of Christ, this is not good-bye but see you later.
Celebration of Life service will be at Friendship Community Church, in Saanichton, BC on Aug 9th 2pm.
