Jim Geiwitz

Jim Geiwitz

With his beloved and loving wife by his side, Jim left us on July 18, 2025. An academically gifted man, he held a PhD in Psychology from the University of Michigan, where he specialized in ExperimentalDesign. He believed in the pursuit of truth through science and over his distinguished career he wrote, edited, or contributed to sixteen books, ranging from academic textbooks and self-help works to a fictionalized account of his early life growing up in the small Midwestern town of Minnesota. In 1995, he moved to Canada to marry his wife, Renee Woodsend.

He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his many acts of kindness, and his sincere wish for others to lead happy and fulfilling lives. He was a fond and loyal friend whose wisdom was tempered by a deep interest in the wellbeing of others.

He leaves behind his wife, Renee Woodsend, and his two treasured sons, Charles Geiwitz and Cameron Woodsend, as well as his lifelong partners in fun and mischief, his cousin Barbara Ruddick and Robert Borson.

Jim, we are all the better for having known your kind, dear self.
