Bryce Arlow Lundeen
May 1938 – July 4, 2026
Bryce Arlow Lundeen passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, in North Saanich, British Columbia, at the age of 88. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and raised in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan.
Bryce earned a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and later completed an MBA at the University of California, Berkeley. He spent his career in the computer industry.
Bryce loved to build. He constructed several houses over the years, doing most of the work himself with Donna’s help.
He was also an avid athlete. He started the hockey team the “Retreads” with his best friend, Tom Dagg, and played with the team until the age of 84. He also enjoyed tennis for many years.
Bryce valued his connections to family and community throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Donna Christine Jean, and his son, Jeff Lundeen.
May Bryce’s memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
Bryce and Tom died within four days of each other. A combined Celebration of Life for the two of them has been held.
So sorry to hear we have lost Bryce and Tom. Two wonderful guys who contributed so much to old timers hockey players and many others. Thank you Bryce and Tom, condolences to both families.
I too met Bryce at the end-stages of his life. I was surprised when he told me he was 87; he had so much youthful energy. I enjoyed getting to know Bryce, first in the monthly video calls of the Vancouver Island Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group, then in person at our cafe gatherings in Sidney along with Ken and Mike. He always showed up with a smile, a warm greeting, and genuine curiosity on how we were doing. He was such a good-natured and kind-hearted man.
I admired Bryce’s curiosity in seeking out new treatments for our disease which he openly shared with us, his sense of adventure for pursuing them, and our connection to Panorama hockey. He always brought an attitude of positivity, humour and friendliness. I offer my love and condolences to all his family, friends, and indeed all those whose lives he touched.
Bryce is indeed missed.
I met Bryce in the end stages of his life through the Vancouver Island Pulmonary Fibrosis Support Group. Bryce was an enthusiastic member hot on the trail of any breakthrough or development in the field. I suspect he brought that energy and enthusiasm to all parts of his life. His efforts and struggles were appreciated by others who shared a similar diagnosis.
The clutch of four of us men met for coffee a few times in Sidney along the way. Now there are only two of us left.
We’ll save a chair for him at our table when the time arrives.

What a shock to hear about the passing of Bryce and Tom…such good friends and hockey teammates. Norm and I still have vivid memories of our fabulous European Hockey trip and how much work Bryce and Tom did to make it all happen. Our deepest sympathies go to Donna and Lydia and family members.
